Many churches, today, are not open to information about child abuse or hearing from “Bikers Against Child Abuse”. They say that there is no doubt that B.A.C.A. is a fine organization, just like many other organizations, like the Red Cross. The say that none of these causes are the mission of the church. At the same time, they do promote raising money to feed children in Africa or promote adopting children (especially from other countries). They seem to pick and choose what they will promote while claiming that the ones they don’t promote are not the mission of the church. I disagree.
Some of today’s churches claim that the mission of the church is just to get people saved and that if everyone were saved, all these problems would not exist. Really? How’s that working for you? If that actually were their only purpose, I guess they would have to go out of business. I think that these statements are just excuses.
What is important to Christ, should be important to us. What is important to Christ, should be important to the Church. I can not find much in the Bible about donating blood or adopting children. I do, however, find scriptures against Child Abuse. Christ often spoke about children. He told us that we needed to be like little children and He didn’t mean little abused children. In fact, in Luke 17:2, He told us:
“It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he be cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.” Also see Mark 9:42
If it is important to our Lord and Savior, shouldn’t it be important to us and to the church? How can today’s Church and today’s Christians say that they love Christ and not care about what He cares about? Most anyone will tell you that they are against child abuse, but what are they doing about it? Truth will invoke action, so they just don’t want to hear it. If they hear about it, they will realize that they are not doing anything about it. At the very least, they should be supporting those that are doing something about it.
“Bikers Against Child Abuse”, although not a religious organization, is doing something about it. They are doing what nobody else does. The Police can’t do it, the churches would do it, and social programs can’t do it. It is a job that only B.A.C.A. is doing. The B.A.C.A. bikers are empowering the children so that they do not have to be afraid of the world in which they live.
May God bless “Bikers Against Child Abuse” (B.A.C.A.) and their efforts in behalf of children. #
