What Do You Mean By That?

What do you mean by that?
What do you mean by that?
You talk and talk and talk,
But, what do you mean by that?

The words that you are saying,
I wish you would define.
They sound as if you mean one thing,
But what I hear is out of line.

One word can mean several different things,
And can be used in several ways.
But I’m not sure which way you mean,
So my understanding is kind of gray.

Sometimes it is confusing,
Sometimes it is funny, too
Sometimes I don’t know what you mean,
So it is hard to answer you.
