In The City Of Niangua,
Live a varity of folks.
Some seem always serious,
Some like to tell jokes.
Some will give you their shirt,
Others will try to take yours.
They’re a hard working bunch,
Seem to always have chores.
Many have talents,
And skills that amaze.
Some like to make music,
And some paint every day.
There are plumbers & electricians,
Some build things with wood.
Some can fix your lawn mower,
And your car, if they could.
There are lots of skilled people,
Who live in this town.
Some are skilled at rumors,
They like to spread around.
Some get all excited,
Some just wait and see,
For the latest big news,
And what it will be.
Niangua has been here,
For a very long while.
Some want it the way it is,
Some want a new style.
Although Niangua’s a small place,
It is known all around,
For strong outspoken people,
In Niangua they abound.
So here’s to Niangua,
The town we love well.
But if you don’t want to live here,
We’ll think, that’s just swell!
