The Door

     The Door has always been there, but few even notice it.   And few, there be that find it, or even try to.  Some even shun and or avoid the Door.

     There is a maze of walls, all around us and we run into them quite often.  Some of the walls have been constructed by others and we have constructed some of them ourselves.  What are some of these walls?

     One of the walls is the Wall of Disbelief.  Many people spend a lot of time bumping into this wall and do it most of their life.  The very nature of this wall keeps people from acknowledging the Door’s existence.  The Door is still there, but they will never find it while spending all their time at the Wall of Disbelief. 

     Another wall is called the Wall of Traditions or the Traditions of the Elders.  You know, “that’s how we have always done it”.  At the Wall of Traditions, things are repeated over and over again, often loosing sight of what the subject was originally about or its purpose.  As with anything repeated over and over, often it gradually changes until it no longer resembles what it was to start with.  Walls, walls, everywhere walls!

     There are even walls known as Truth Barriers.  These walls are often built by the people themselves.  These walls are built in front of the Door and keep people from getting to the Door.  Now you have guessed it, the Door is the Door of Truth.  Some people will acknowledge that the Door exist, but choose to remain behind the wall called the Truth Barrier.  Those people have no advantage over those who do not believe that the Door exist, in that the Door does them no good. 

     People wander around in the maze of walls for years and years, some never coming to the Door and fewer ever go through it.  Through the Door there are more Doors, as one Door leads to another.  One Truth leads to another.  Those that love truth will continue to open the Doors, but some wander back behind the maze of walls after finding the Door.  Not all the doors are pleasant and that discourages some people.  Those who continue to go from Door to Door, from Truth to Truth, understand that “Truth Is Useless, Unless You Use it”! 

     The Door seekers are saddened by the fact that so many choose to spend the lives wandering around in the maze of Walls. They ask the question; “Will you choose to go through the Door or continue to wander the maze of Walls?”  The Door is still there, but that is the nature of the Door.  The Door does not force itself on anyone.  The Door is!

e-mail to Missouri state senator and State Representative.

There has been some talk about Missouri joining with other States that have passed laws preventing the Federal government from violating our gun rights in Missouri.  This is good, but wouldn't it also be a good idea for Missouri to stop violating our gun rights?

Missouri State Constitution Article 1 Bill of Rights Section 23: 

"That the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person and property, or when lawfully summoned in aid of the civil power, shall not be questioned; but this shall not justify the wearing of concealed weapons"

This is good until it gets to the word "But" and then the section questions what it just stated shall not be questioned.  Why should any law abiding citizen of the State of Missouri have to get a permit to carry a firearm?  Although Open Carry is said to be legal, if you do (in most cities) you will be stopped, questioned, detained and in some cities arrested.  Locally, both Marshfield and Niangua have City Ordinances against carrying a firearm open or concealed.  To me, that is in direct violation of Article 1 Section 23.

As for Conceal Carry Permits.  Conceal Carry Permits do not prevent criminals from carrying firearms, it just questions a persons right to do so.  Training is a good idea, but to require a person to have two different types of weapons, an amount of ammo for the testing, pay the instruction fees, and then pay another fee with the Sheriff's office is not only questioning our right to bear arms, but makes it difficult for a poor person (Senior Citizen or other person on a fixed income) to come up with the fees.  It other words, you have the right to defend yourself with a firearm IF you can afford all the fees, requirements, and don't try to defend yourself in a City that has made that illegal.

I will be 70 years old in March, have owned and fired guns from childhood, I am on a fixed low income (SS), why should I have to buy or rent a different type firearm, shoot up a bunch of expensive ammo, and pay fees to both the instructor and the sheriff's Dept. just to be able to protect my wife and I???  My only other alternative is to risk arrest in my own town (Niangua) or in Marshfield (and no doubt Springfield).

This needs to be corrected.  Please see what you can do.

     He who will not open his eyes and see, has no advantage over he who can not.

     The majority of those in today’s church hold fast to many errors, false beliefs, and have incorporated many pagan beliefs and rituals into their worship.   They also worship the Israelis and/or the Jewish people (they cannot serve two masters).  They don’t call it worship, they just loving them.  That’s fine, but what about everyone else?  They will attack you if you question their love (how loving is that?).   A person dare not question anything “Jewish” for fear of being pounced upon and torn to shreds and hit with all kinds of catch phrases and one liners .

    The Church celebrates Halloween, Easter, and put up “Christmas trees” (often even with Santa and toys).  They prohibit anyone divorced from preaching or teaching (even though God said that He divorced Israel).  They even call their Savior “Jesus” (just because the KJV translators wrote it that way).  Some churches even worship the King James version of the Bible, calling it God’s perfect and protected Word. Many churches practice Landmarkism.   I can and have addressed (in earlier writings) all the subjects above (some of them are covered in my book “False gods of Today’s Christian Church”  at www.lulu.com).

     Here is the problem.  Right now some of you do not see what is wrong with any of the above.  Right now many have excuses or try to explain away any of the above errors and justify the incorporation of pagan holidays and practices into their church.  And just saying: “Well, the important thing is Jesus.”  does not really address any of it.

     The Apostle Paul, speaking on different subjects, twice told the church not to be ignorant.  If they weren’t ignorant, he would not have had to tell them.  He wasn’t saying: “You’re smart now, but don’t start getting stupid on me”. No, he wanted them to understand.   Understanding is important and enlightening, ignorance is not.

“Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, . . . “  (Romans 1:13 KJV)

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, . . .”  (1 Thessalonians 4:13 KJV)

Clearly, there were things he knew they were ignorant about, they hadn’t got it yet!  Today’s Church haven’t got it yet.  They just keep repeating the same incorrect information over and over again.  They have always believed it that way, so it must be true.

     Truth is much like leaven, with a little you will gain more (I Corinthians 5:6)   Without even a little (even if you think you have it) what you think you have is useless and gone.  We are told this three times in the scriptures

“For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.”  (Matthew 13:12 KJV)

“For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”  (Matthew 25:29 KJV)

“Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.”  (Luke 8:18 KJV)

    It is amazing how one truth will lead to another truth, to another truth, to another.  While the more a person rejects truth, the harder it is for them to find any.

I recently read a statement by someone the read: 

“Truth is truth, even if no one believes it.  A lie is a lie even if everyone believes it!”

   It amazing me how many will defend their false beliefs and in affect cover their ears and close their eyes for fear that some truth might get in.  They treat the truth like they should treat the devil, they resist it and it flees from them.

Here we go again! The politically correct, diversity overload, let's cater to the single complainer and ignore the majority people have struck again. This time it involves the annual Easter egg hunt at an Alabama elementary school. Apparently, the principal has decided that the word Easter may be offensive to some people... so out it goes... and the Easter egg hunt with it!

[I don’t think that the Principal was trying to be politically correct as much as I would guess that she is trying to avoid law suits by groups that have been trying to remove anything “Christian” from schools. But she is in error, assuming that “Easter” is Christian.]

First, let's state the obvious. Easter, like Christmas, is a Christian religious holiday. Yes, you are probably thinking, "Duh," but for some people the meaning of Christmas and Easter is somehow elusive. Plus, as I've learned over the years, there's no such thing as common sense when it comes to the left wing, politically correct agenda.

[What is “obvious” is that the writer did not research “Easter” before writing the article and assumed (like many do) that “Easter” is Christian]

As reported by WHNT News, children at Heritage Elementary School in Madison, Alabama will not be having an Easter egg hunt this year, because the egg hunt is associated with Easter, and Easter may be offensive to some people. Are you kidding me? Here's the story:

[The people that should be offended by “Easter” and “Easter Egg Hunts” are Christians, but most Christians are falsely assuming that “Easter” is Christian. “Easter” is from the name “Ishtar” the pagan fertility goddess, a sex goddess. “Easter Eggs”, “Easter Bunnies” and baby chicks have nothing to do with the resurrection of Christ. Even having “Sunrise Services” (watching the sun rise) is a form of sun worship and not “Son” (of God) worship. All of those things are connected with Spring and the fertility goddess and have nothing to do with Christianity.]

This is unreal. The principal, Lydia Davenport, says that she doesn't want to offend anyone. Her entire course of action is offensive! You can have a bunny, but you can't call it an Easter bunny. Hello! This is Easter time. Of course it's an Easter bunny.

One Heritage parent wrote in an email response:“I don’t get upset about too many things, but this upsets me. What is this world coming to? I am a Christian and proud to announce it. But even non-believers enjoy a good egg hunt. Kids need to enjoy being kids.”

“We had in the past,” explains principal Lydia Davenport, “a parent to question us about some of the things we do here at school, so we’re just trying to make sure we respect and honor everybody’s differences.”

My kids are off from school tomorrow, because it's Good Friday. It's not some after Spring Break break. It's part of Easter weekend, and this is America... where Christian religious holidays are celebrated.

The idea that the shape of containers needs to be changed because that could remind people of the Easter bunny which would then remind them of Easter which would then offend them in some way is crazy. What’s happening to this country???

[The article does do a good job of pointing out how people are thinking, but fails to realize that what they are thinking is not based on fact or truth. Why would the people who are calling themselves “Christians” want their children participating in games and or practices of a sex goddess? They wouldn’t if they ever understood, but sadly most dismiss the facts, even make excuses for “Easter”.]

     Some people say that they do not go to church because they don’t like organized religion. To that statement, they could be asked if it is unorganized religion that they prefer. It is really just an excuse. Actually, they do not like what they preserve as church or religion. Often it is because they feel that it is opposed to their life style and they do not want to change or feel like they should.

  There are many reasons why some people do not like church or religion and many of them are not without merit. It is said that religions are just a tool to control people. Was it Karl Marx that stated, religion is the opiate of the people? In many respects, he was correct. Many religions do exercise a great deal of control over their followers. Fact is that everyone is controlled by something. Total self-control is a myth. It is Christ that gives us free choice. We can follow what His instructions or we can ignore them, the choice is ours.

Another excuse is that churches and religions are all about money, and that their leaders and Pastors wear Rolex watches, and drive Rolls Royce cars. There no doubt are some, but it is far from the normal. Many Pastors today, are fortunate to have a good working watch or a vehicle that is not in need of some repair. It is clear that many do not have good working watches, because they often preach past the time to end the message.

There is always a bad apple that can be pointed to, as if that represented everyone. Pastors and religious leaders are not Gods. They are very human, are not perfect, and are subject to make mistakes just like anyone else. They are in the spot light, so to speak, and any error is very noticeable. This is why, in Christianity, Christians follow Christ and not man. Man will always disappoint you, sooner or later. Should a Pastor set a good example? Of course he should and so should each of us, but he is no more perfect than any of us. If the critics can not point to some error by the Pastor, they will find an imperfect person that goes to that church. Christians are not perfect they are forgiven; there is a lot of difference. The critic does not mind going to work, to a bar, to the store, or to a ball game with imperfect people, why not Church? It is just an excuse!

Some people claim to be atheist and opposed to all religion. Atheism itself is a religion, because an atheist has to believe that there is no God – there is no way for them to prove it. Atheism is a religion, based on the belief that there is no God. While hating religion, they have become one.

Christianity is not church or religion; it is a way of life based on the teachings of Christ. You either believe His teachings or you do not. If a person goes through life believing the teachings of Christ, and in the end, find they were wrong, they have lost nothing. If a person goes through life, rejecting His teaching, and in the end they find out they were wrong, they have lost everything!

Ok, now what is your excuse?

Preaching to the Choir

When is today's Church going to stop Preaching to the Choir, useing words and term that are incorrect or only mean something to other Christians. If they would but honestly listen to themselves, as if they were not Christians, they might see that alot of what is said make little sense to the unsaved.


Last night we attended a "Vespers Service" at a church in Springfield, Missouri. I asked ...the lady sitting in front of us what "Vespers" meant and she told us she didn't know. And then the preacher began talking about Jesus being born the King of the Jews and the King of Israel. He also spoke of Jesus being born to Mary and Joseph and about celebrating His Birthday.

Some of you are wondering what's wrong with any of that? First "Vespers". Someone just coming in from the outside might think that the service had something to do with Astrology, after all it was a "SUN day" evening and "Vesper" is defined as the evening star, especially Venus.

Next the Birthday of Jesus the baby in the manger. Sounds very human and not like the eternal God, creator, and savior. Someone from the outside may think that was fine to remember a child's birthday, but what does that mean to them?

And then there is the often and over used statements of Jesus being born the King of the Jews / the King of Israel. Someone from the outside might say: "Well that is all fine and good, but I'm not an Israeli or a Jew so what has that got to do with me??

What happened to the information that a person just coming in from the outside really would need to hear?? That there really is a God that loves them. A God that loves them so much hat He paid the penalty for their sins, that it is a free gift, but like all gifts, it does them no good unless they accept it.

While we are busy Celebrating a baby’s birth and the King of the Jews, the unsaved are scratching their heads, saying "how odd", "how Foolish". And it does nothing for them.

Think about it!
